FISHING SEMINARS
BASS FISHING / FALL TRANSITION –
Derik Hudson IS A TOURNAMENT ANGLER WHO HAS OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE BASS FISHING AND COMPETING IN TOURNAMENTS AT ALL LEVELS SUCH AS THE FLW, MLF AND COUNTLESS OTHER TRAIL & TEAM TOURNAMENT FORMATS. HE WILL FOCUS ON THE FALL TO WINTER TRANSITION AND HOW TO LOCATE AND CATCH BIG BASS SHALLOW AND DEEP DURING THIS PHASE. ADDITIONALLY, HE WILL TEACH ABOUT BAIT SELECTIONS, ROD AND REEL SELECTIONS, AND TYPES OF LINES TO USE FOR THE DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES. COME TO IMPROVE ON YOUR BASS FISHING KNOWLEDGE AND LEARN HOW TO CATCH MORE BASS!
BEGINNING FLY FISHING
TOM REISDORF, AS BEEN FLY FISHING SINCE 1966. HE GREW UP FISHING IN THE ADIRONDACK MOUNTAINS OF UPSTATE NY. AND WAS A FORMER STATE CHAIRMAN OF THE VIRGINIA COUNCIL OF TROUT UNLIMITED, AND FORMER FLY FISHING AND FLY TYING INSTRUCTOR FOR THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF GAME AND INLAND FISHERIES AND BECOMING AN OUTDOORS WOMAN PROGRAM. HE IS THE FORMER THE MANAGER OF ANGLER’S LANE SINCE AND STILL WORK PART TIME. HE HAS GUIDED CLIENTS FOR TROUT AND SMALLMOUTH BASS AROUND VIRGINIA FOR DECADES. BEGINNING FLY FISHING WILL CONSIST OF LEARNING ABOUT RODS, REELS, FLY LINES, LEADERS, TIPPETS, BACKING AND BASIC KNOTS. THEN LEARNING ABOUT WHAT IS IN A FLY VEST OR PACK, FLY BOXES AND FLIES, GADGETS, ETC. A CASTING SESSION WILL FINISH THE CLASS.
POND MANAGEMENT 101
Steve Owens, is A District Fisheries Biologist for the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. One of his specialties is the management of small impoundments (ponds). Key topics will include proper pond layout and design, fish stocking, management strategies, and common problems encountered by pond owners.

ELK HUNTING
Avid Elk Hunter, DAN WITT, knows many hunters have dreamed of one day harvesting a majestic elk in the Rocky Mountains. This seminar will cover many aspects of elk hunting including the use of calling, hunting techniques, and equipment. Another focus of the seminar will be planning a do-it-yourself hunt and getting physically prepared for hunting elk in the rugged Rocky Mountains.
